UTAS Stadium reconstruction
Posted on August 15, 2019 in ProjectsYellow Box Computing Services, in partnership with STRI (consultants) and the City of Launceston, designed and then “Pitchcraft” reconstructed the UTAS Stadium in Launceston Tasmania.
The original oval being that of a flat surface combined with being affected by the underground water table, required a long term solution.
The oval is a perched water table construction with a reshaped domed surface, with a 0.5% surface slope, the irrigation placed 600mm under the finished surface and the drainage on the clay base and in the gravel layer.
The below timelapse video shows the project from the turning of the first sod to its completion.
